Stephen Colbert and Brooks Brothers

Brooks Brothers is the official suit outfitter for Stephen Colbert's show. On last night's airing, he tried on some suits at the Brooks Brothers' flagship location on 346 Madison Ave. (street name sound familiar?). He was shopping for Prince William's royal wedding to Kate Middleton, and eventually ended up with a handsome morning coat and top hat, probably done up for hilarity but is actually very appropriate for the occasion. Blowup doll of the queen sold separately.

BB also made a custom-made camoflague suit when Stephen visited the troops overseas two years ago.

Ole Miss: The University of Mississippi

The University of Mississippi, or better known as Ole Miss, is Mississippi's flagship public institution and located in the town of Oxford. As a prominent southern school, it is one of the best campuses to spot young men and women dressed up in southern prep clothing. The university was founded in 1848 and is one of the top public schools in the nation.

Alama Mater

Way down south in Mississippi
There's a spot that ever calls
Where amongst the hills enfolded
Stand old Alma Mater's Halls
Where the trees lift high their branches
To the whispering Southern breeze
There Ole Miss is calling, calling
To our hearts fond memories.

As part of the Southerneastern Athletic Conference, college football dominates at Ole Miss and gameday at The Grove is a time to show off your Sunday best (football here is a religion after all) before cheering on the Rebels to a victory
.

Hotty Toddy
Are you ready?
Hell yes! Damn Right!
Hotty Toddy, Gosh almighty
Who the hell are we, Hey!
Flim Flam, Bim Bam
OLE MISS BY DAMN!

Campus

The Lyceum

Ventress Hall

Statue of James Meredith, the first African American to attend Ole Miss.

Move in day for the freshmen. Nice wayfarers.

Dad's job is to carry clothes while mom and daughter spend an hour rearranging the dorm room to fit even more clothes.

The famous Guy Harvey frocket.

Convocation. Or a golf club presentation, not sure.

Seersucker and bowtie.

Classes begin. Short inseamed shorts are a common sight. It appears he is wearing "stand-up" shorts, which are durable technical wear popular among boaters / southern fratters alike. Paired up with a cap, shades with croakies, rain jacket, and driving loafers. A relaxed look for a drizzly day.

Dressed up to the nines even when the sun don't shine! (Yes, aware that it should be doesn't but it did not roll off the tongue as easily.) Lord, I love me some southern girls.

North Face rain jacket and red chucks.

Nice cowgirl boots.

The Patagonia Synchilla Snap T pullover. Offered with an array of colors, this one is in neon purple with red trimming.

Studying away with his khakis and frocket.

Another Patagonia Synchilla. Extra credit for her ponytail through the back.

LL Bean pack. Girl in Sperrys.

Ropers and a cowboy hat to go with it. Definitely a deep southern thing.

Trad professors.

Community service. Digging the bit loafers.

Game Day fast approaching. Gotta setup camp with a Southern Proper cap on.

The Grove, hours away from tailgating.

No pizza deliveries here. Tailgating food is serious business.

Sweet.

Frat boys in their chinos and ties.

4 block pants.

PGA and The Game "College Bar" caps. Must be distressed for it to be TFM.

Hotty Toddy indeed. It's customary to keep your pom-pom stick in your back pocket, assuming your hands are too busy carrying a cold beer and some fixin's. Guy with the frog skins is wearing another The Game cap.

Perfect combo.

Even better. Seersucker, bowtie, leather spectators.

Or the classic necktie in school colors.

OCBD and a smile.

VV belt. Elvis making a comeback.

Father and sons. I like his pronounced lapel on the navy blazer.

Chill'n. Why, what are you doing?

Don't forget the ladies...

...in their gameday dresses, pearl necklaces, and high heels...

...with lots of makeup of course.

Even the Colonel is dressed up with his emblem pants.

Greeting the athletes in the Walk of Champions.

Heading to the game. Notice the back pocket again.
Tie and coat. The 3D shades are for some gimmick, probably Avatar.

Tweed and plaid. Great for a crisp night.

Homecoming at halftime. Epitome of a southern belle. Pa's proud. And his school bowtie is tastefully done with the tuxedo for the festive occasion.

Nice OCBD and navy sweater combo.

Speaking of sports, looks like all those years Pa taught these girls how to hunt paid off.

I'm scared and turned on at the same time. Weird feeling.

After the game, head over to Oxford Square for dinner.

I like his relaxed look.

More gorgeous women in sundresses.

RL shirt and reds.

Girl in yellow. Khaki shorts and sneakers, a little off-putting but acceptable in some cases. Not here though. Maybe that's why she looks disappointed.

This couple is better dressed. Maybe they met sophomore year and have been together ever since. He'll pop the question at graduation, and this picture will sit up on their country estate's fireplace mantle with little future Rebels running around. Trad wear and her little black dress.

Hope you enjoyed your years buddy!
